Okay, let’s take university of Ibadan for instance and see their requirements before you can study psychology as a course in their institution.

Requirement for psychology in university

The requirement for psychology in university in Nigeria entails what you must possess in your 0’Level and during jamb before you can think of studying psychology.

So, we will be grouping this into two;

A. O’Level (WAEC, NECO, GCE or other accepted exams) requirement.

B. JAMB ( UTME) requirement.

Now, we will take a good look at this one after the day to ensure you don’t get confused.

O’level Subject Combinations

Students/candidates who wish study psychology through UTME  must possess at least 5 credit passes in 5 subjects at a sitting or 6’olevel subject passes in two sittings in NECO, WAEC, GCE or it’s equivalent such as IJMB or jupeb.

Deeper illustration: this means you have to pass at least 5 subjects in a sitting including maths, English, Biology and other social sciences or science subjects.

Then, if you want to make use of two sittings, you must pass or have at least 6 passes in your O’level results which must include maths, English language, Biology and other social sciences or science subjects combined.

JAMB (UTME) Subject Combination

Students/Candidates applying for psychology vial UTME will write the following Subjects in JAMB Examination.

English language, and any other 3 subjects from sciences or social sciences.

JAMB Cut-Off Mark for psychology in Nigeria university

Generally, to be admitted into a prestigious university like Uniben, Unilag, the JAMB cut–off Mark is usually 200 score.

So, if you want to be eligible for admission, you should try as much as possible to score 200 and above in your JAMB exam.

Though, recently, many universities now have their own JAMB cut-off  Mark during Post UTME exam if they are offering. This means you have to do well in all ramification to avoid losing out during admission.

A. Candidate must have at least one pass in advanced level GCE or the kind similar to Advanced level GCE in any 2 of the following subjects:

B. Must posses 2 “A” passes in social sciences or sciences.

Requirements for psychology in university of Ibadan?

You want to study psychology in university of Ibadan (UI) right?

Yes, if you are not thinking of Unibadan then what are doing in this Particular line of content.

The requirements for psychology in university of Ibadan are;

O’Level Requirements

The students/candidates must posses 5 credit pass in SSCE which includes;
English language
Economics
Government
History or Religious studies (CRK). You can choose any of the two)

Students are advised to have at least 203 – 250. This varies annually. So, you must do well in any examination that concerns your being admitted in university of Ibadan.

O’Level Subject Combination

So, after your SSCE result, you should do well in your JAMB.. So, English is a must in your JAMB examination and other three social sciences or science subjects. Eg economics, religious studies, Government and many of that kind.
